There are several resources out there that tell you different opinions on how often different areas in your home should be cleaned. A lot of it depends on use, but there are certain areas that you should pay special attention to. Doing a once a year cleaning in most areas probably wont cut it, as your home can harbor more bacteria than a trash can.

Let’s go through this list from areas that should be cleaned daily, to areas that only need once a year attention. You may be surprised on the frequency of certain items as they may need more/less attention than you would think. We will break down the “why” in future articles.

Daily

  • Wipe Kitchen Counter Top
  • Vacuum and/or Sweep (frequency depends on traffic and pets)

Going through a checklist is just the start to getting on track to having a clean home. It may seem overwhelming at first glance, but by creating a custom weekly schedule to divide and conquer, it isn’t a burden as long as you keep up with it. It is important to keep up with the listed tasks because your home can harbor so much bacteria that can cause your family illness.
